SEEAA Leads Carbon Masters India's Pre-Series A Round

SEEAA is a EUR 21 million investment vehicle managed by Schneider Electric to invest in early-stage clean energy and climate-tech firms ventures in South and Southeast Asia.

Carbon Masters India, Bangalore-based climate-tech venture, has raised an undisclosed amount in a Pre-Series A round led by Schneider Electric Energy Access Asia (SEEAA). Carbon Masters is a technology-enabled sales platform for bio-CNG and bio-enriched organic manures sold under the brand 'Carbonlites,' which are made from the organic waste portion of municipal solid waste (MSW) and agri waste in three states: Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana.

The round was led by SEEAA, with participation from existing and new investors such as Bharat Founders Fund, Sangam Ventures, Indian Angel Network (IAN), Nativelead Foundation, Avalok Consultancy and others. A significant rise in global oil, gas, and fertilisers has boosted Carbon Master’s product reach and revenue generation. Further, the ESG/climate impact and Net Zero commitments from both governments and the private sector worldwide help the firm grow across geographies.

Founded by Som Narayan and Kevin Houston, Carbon Masters is a climate tech company with offices in the UK and India. SEEAA is a EUR 21 million investment vehicle managed by Schneider Electric to invest in early-stage clean energy and climate-tech firms ventures in South and Southeast Asia.

The climate-tech company-focused investment advisory firm, Ecoforge Advisors, acted as the sole transaction advisor to Carbon Masters on this transaction. The company and the founders were represented by a Bangalore-based law firm, NovoJuris Legal.
