After numerous tests and evaluation, R2 Robotronics launched their “DROSNAS for GIS” platform. DROSNAS is their flagship product, meant to enable management of enterprise drone swarms. The launch was done at ESRI India’s User Conference 2017 on 19th of January where R2 showcased its revolutionary technology. ESRI has recognized R2 as an emerging business partner, thereby granting R2 access to such marketing and branding events. The stall saw ESRI Global CEO Jack Dangermond pay a visit who highly appreciated the tech and the product. He was visibly impressed with the way R2 is taking ESRI’s GIS over a completely autonomous drone system, where now the customer doesn’t even need to install a GIS software, everything is handled in the cloud. R2 is now in the process of beginning pilots for various organizations under GIS and also in Agri-linked GIS.

The system enables the user to simply fly his drones around using DROSNAS’ interface and specify the points for data collection, after which the drones fly autonomously, collect data and relay it back to R2’s cloud network, where they are processed and the results are shared with the user.

This new step in Drone-based GIS means the users can now deploy drones at less than 50% the original cost, with a much greater efficiency, without having to worry about the software and data. Drone fleets can now go and scan an area in a much shorter time and help the user make intelligent decisions much more quickly.

Jaspal Sarai, CoFounder & Director, Jaarvis Accelerator says “So far only hobbyists used to get excited about Drones, but R2’s DRONAS will enable Drones to deliver real commercial value. To be able to deploy Drones from a central command opens up significant markets like, real estates, agriculture and emergency services”. Among the Jaarvis Accelerator invested startups, R2 Robotronics has the potential to disrupt the exploding enterprise drone market worldwide.

For GIS, R2 has partnered with one of the biggest GIS solutions providers – ESRI. Enabled, with their latest technology in image processing and 3D visualization, R2 is now able to provide and end-to-end integrated solution for Drone-based GIS needs. The system enables the user to simply fly his drones around using DROSNAS’ interface and specify the points for data collection, after which the drones fly autonomously, collect data and relay it back to R2’s cloud network, where they are processed and the results are shared with the user.
