The Ola Uber Drivers and Owner’s Association (OUDOA) and the autorickshaws drivers working with hailing companies feel negative about the five per cent convenience fee and Goods and Services Tax (GST) put on every ride taken by the passengers.

On November 25 the Karnataka Government told the transport authorities to put a five per cent convenience fee and GST from the ride-hailing companies on each autorickshaw ride.

According to the reports OUDOA President Tanveer Pasha alleged the Karnataka government to not present the case properly from the Karnataka government.

Pasha also allegedly indicated that the transport department did not take on board the Regional Transport Authority, Bengaluru Urban district on board. The chairman of the authority is the deputy commissioner of Bengaluru Urban district while passing the direction.

As per the present scheme, the charge for every kilometre while riding an autorickshaw is Rs 15. Also, the addition of a five per cent convenience fee with the GST on every kilometre ride would in turn cost 80 paise.
