Ola electric launches Move OS 3 for their electric scooters. It has features such as vacation mode, party mode, and proximity lock. Ola will start Move OS 3 on 25th October and roll out for S1 owners completely by early December.
The company started their journey on 15 Aug last year towards mission electric, and in just 15 months Ola has gained 50 per cent market share in the EV market. There is a 15 per cent penetration of EVs in the Indian market and 40 per cent in metro cities
"Software is the heart of EV and Move OS 3 is going to take the capabilities of your S1 to next level. There will be two new modes in the update. And we have been working on accessories on the customer's demands. So far we have added a buddy step and centre stand. Customers can expect a lot of accessories by January 2023 such as customised boot space and customised T-shirts" said Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder and CEO of Ola.
There will be a proximity lock in the scooter through which that scooter will automatically start and stop by sensing your presence near it. Modes such as vacation mode will help the scooter conserve energy and give a battery life of up to 200 days. Family members of riders will be able to access the scooter without a key and one can see who is calling you in the cluster. In party mode, there will be high-volume speakers and all headlamps will sync to the music. And a bolt mood for riding scooters at high speed.
He added " Hyper charging facility is there and so far there are 50 hyper charger stations all over India. Community forums for our community will help riders to learn new things and so far we have set up 50 experience centers this year and are planning to set up 200 new centers by March next year. Ola service is available in 300 cities."
Ola is also offering their customers to take S1 to their homes for 24 hours to experience an EV. This offer is available in 20 cities from today onwards and in 40 cities by 7th Nov. Ola is also going to launch their product in Nepal by the end of the year and in Latin America and Europe by early next year. The price of Ola S1 will be Rs 84,999 but on Diwali, the introductory special price is Rs 79,999.
Customers can reserve the scooter for Rs 999 from today the purchase window is going to open in February next year and delivery will start in April.
Last year in June, 4000 electric scooters were sold across India. However, this year in Sep 50,000 electric scooters were sold across all of India. Ola aims to make India, the largest market of electric vehicles in the world and by 2025 make every two-wheeler into an electric scooter in various segments such as commuter scooters, motorbikes and sports bikes.
