Ninjacart Strengthens India’s Farmer/Retailer Network with the Launch in Delhi, Mumbai and Pune

Launch aims at strengthening geographical footprint, amplifying sourcing synergies and bolstering the platform’s technology capabilities in India

Ninjacart, Indian Agri-tech platform that connects farmers to retailers today announced the expansion of its supply chain operations to Delhi, Mumbai and Pune, augmenting the startup’s presence across key centers in India. Utilizing the funds raised from the recently closed Rs. 250 crores series B round, the newly inaugurated facilities will cater to regions throughout Maharashtra, Rajasthan, UP and Haryana and further reinforce Ninjacart’s vision of safe food for everyone.

Launched in 2015, Ninjacart is a Bengaluru based startup founded by Thirukumaran Nagarajan, Kartheeswaran KK, Ashutosh Vikram, Sharath Loganathan and Vasudevan Chinnathambi. Ninjacart leverages its innovative technology to solve one of the toughest agricultural supply chain problems and enable retailers and merchants to source fresh produce directly from the farmers at economical prices.

Ninjacart was able to set up end to end operation structures in the cities in less than two months, reinstating the technological prowess and dedication towards revolutionizing how agricultural processes are executed. The state-of-the-art distribution stations have been designed specifically for the new markets to expand faster, reduce cost and continue to build a high-speed integrated supply chain infrastructure powered by technology, data science and logistics network.

While the initial operations in Delhi and Mumbai have kickstarted with onboarding approximately 300 farmers and 600 retailers onto the platform as well as 180 farmers and 360 retailers in Pune, this number is expected to grow to 2000+ farmers and 4500+ retailers across Delhi and Mumbai and 1200+ farmers and 5000+ retailers across Pune in the next six months. The startup seeks to employ 950+ passionate individuals and collectively grow capabilitiesand customer baseacross India.
