Nexus Venture Partners Elevates Anand Datta To Partner

Founded in 2006 by Silicon Valley-based entrepreneurs Naren Gupta, Sandeep Singhal and Suvir Sujan, Nexus was among the first Indian venture capital firms to invest in software startups across India and the US

Nexus Venture Partners, which has invested in startups like Delhivery, Postman, Unacademy, and Zepto, has elevated Principal Anand Datta to partner. Datta, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad and the Indian Institute of Technology-Kharagpur, will join the firm’s Bengaluru office.


Prior to joining Nexus Venture Partners in 2019, Datta worked as a regional business development and new markets manager at Swedish healthcare-focused fintech firm Milvik Bima in Singapore. His previous stint includes positions such as Co-founder at Loan Social, founding team member and vice president of operations at Magicpin, assistant vice president at Franklin Templeton, consultant at Bain and Company, associate at A.T. Kearney and operations manager at Tata Steel.


The VC firm is currently investing from a USD 700 million fund – Nexus Ventures VII – its largest-ever fund, which was closed in February 2023. It backs startups in sectors such as artificial intelligence, software-as-a-service, fintech and commerce in India and the US. It has backed startups like Rapido, as well as software unicorns such as Druva and Hasura.
