Menorca Millennials, the world’s first startup decelerator has launched its third edition of its international event that will take place from the 1st to the 15th of June 2017 on the Balearic island of Menorca, Spain. For 15 days, 20 international startups, led by serial entrepreneurs, will immerse themselves in the decelerator experience and live together on the Menorca Millennials campus with visiting top figures of the global entrepreneurial and economic ecosystem along with global venture capitalists.
Menorca Millennials has proven its ability to achieve its goal of detecting the best international talent and startups with great potential for scaling and succeeding. Startups from the Menorca Millennials’ community have done well, with the first exit coming from Skylight (previously Homeswipe). In addition, 15 other startups that participated in the first or the second edition of the program have raised capital with a total value of almost 30 million euros.
Now Menorca Millennials is poised to enter its most international edition, with 360 valid applications from more than 60 countries. 63 percent came from Europe; 15 percent from Asia; 10 percent from Africa; 9 percent from North America; 2 percent from South America and 1 percent from Oceania.
The third edition of Menorca Millennials will once again bring “Experience Makers” to the island to live together with the 20 startups selected for the program. Some of the first confirmed figures show the relevance and high quality of the program. Martin Varsavsky, founder of companies like Jazztel, Fon, Prelude Fertility and founding partner at Menorca Millennials; Paul Ford, vice president at SendGrid; John Keagy, founder at GoGrid; Angelika Blendstrup, founding partner and venture Partner at SV LATAM Fund and Verne Harnish, founder of Entrepreneurs’ Organization. These ‘Experience Makers’ will share their expertise with the startups as they live and spend time together on the campus.
