Google acquires an artificial Intelligence startup called Alter. According to the media reports the tech giant acquires it for $100 million which is around Rs 822 crore. Alter is an artificial intelligence avatar startup that works by using AI to generate avatars for social media users and brands to express their virtual identities.
The media reports mentioned that would be part of boosting the content game and competing with the short-video platform TikTok. The acquisitions were completed two months ago but none of the companies announced it officially. Also, employees have updated their Linkedin profiles of joining Google.
Alter is a US and Czech-based company. It was founded by Jon Slimak and Robin Raszka. Google has recently rolled out custom emojis to its Chat for a personalised experience.
