Fandrum is a homegrown digital fan community platform and a fan community SaaS started by Samridhi Katyal and Vipul Chaube.
Out of 300 applications that were received, Google India selected 20 women entrepreneurs for its accelerator program. Samridhi Katyal who is the founder of Fandrum is amongst those 20 entrepreneurs under the second cohort.
The Google for Startups Accelerator: Women Founders program is designed to enable women entrepreneurs in India who are using technology to solve complex problems and are making a positive impact on society.
The three-month program includes mentorship, workshops and access to resources and networks for startups from across all sectors, including but not limited to healthcare, education, finance, and e-commerce.
The program includes modules to specifically support women entrepreneurs in areas of friction such as seeking mentorship and advice, hiring talent and tapping networks for help.
This program is part of a larger effort by Google towards improving the representation of women across different sections of India’s digitally-trained workforce - be it entrepreneurship, professionals looking to upskill with the ultimate objective of making technology universally relevant and helpful.
Set for its next phase of growth, Fandrum is in the process of scaling up in all aspects.
Samridhi Katyal and Vipul Chaube are seasoned media professionals and content and business specialists who have spent almost 18 years each in the media industry in senior roles in large media organisations like Star India (now Disney India ) and Viacom 18. They both bring a unique understanding of media business, broadcast businesses, audiences and content creation and acquisition. Samridhi and Vipul understand content across all platforms in digital and broadcast and films.
Fandrum is an online platform designed to match TV/Screen audiences into communities using psychographic analysis who have the same; not similar taste in content together to discuss or fool around with the content in various ways using images, memes, gifs, short format content and other forms.
