Orange Health, a leading health-tech start-up building India’s fastest diagnostic lab service, announced today that the company has acquired Gurugram-based Rapidx, a fast-growing diagnostic lab in a bid to expand its footprints in the crucial NCR region.

Coming close on the heels of its Series B funding, Orange Health’s latest acquisition will now enable them to deliver and expand its flagship service - 60-minutes (sample) collection and 6-hour reporting (diagnostic report) - in the northern region of the country at much ease.

Commenting on the acquisition, Dhruv Gupta and Tarun Bhambra, Co-Founders of Orange Health, said, “The first and foremost consumer need in diagnostics space is access and convenience at affordable prices, particularly for those who are unwell and anxious. We feel that on-demand and at-home service will be the next leap in this sector from the current hyperlocal sample collection centres. This requires building an intelligent and robust supply chain and lab operations that not just promises speed but also on-time delivery. With the current acquisition, we aim to further expand our services and continue our mission to provide fastest, timely and accurate diagnostic services to people in India. We are excited to welcome add a strong team, high quality reference lab and an experienced leadership that will further enhance our capability of serving the Delhi NCR market with our core offering of 60 minute home collection and 6 hour reporting.”

Orange Health will leverage Rapidx’s infrastructure and familiarity with Gurugram and Delhi to strengthen its foothold further. The company has already started investments to augment automation in Rapidx’s current lab and is in the process of launching at least more labs in the coming months.

Speaking on the development, Dr. Amit Arora, Kishore Gemini, and Dr. Dipti Ekka, co-founders of Rapidx, said, “After the second wave of COVID pandemic, we at Rapidx were exploring possibilities to make a shift in our business from B2B (business to business) to B2C (business to consumer). Orange Health was a strategic fit, given the shared vision and commitment to serving the diagnostics needs of a larger population. The acquisition will give us access to a unique consumer play and complement our skills and efforts to realise this combined vision.”
