Delivery services have been suspended by ecommerce platforms to some of the flooded areas of Bengaluru. This comes in the wake of the difficulties being faced by delivery agents in reaching destinations due to the flooded roads.
These areas include parts of Sarjapura, Bellandur, Varthur, Whitefield, and Outer Ring Road which have become difficult to access due to water logging.
A spokesperson from Amazon stated in a statement, "Safety of our associates is our top-most priority. We are evaluating the situation, and ensuring that our associates do not venture into areas with excessive water logging."
Amazon in a statement stated, "In cases where customer deliveries have been impacted, we have informed them proactively."
Likewise, Swiggy has suspended deliveries in the inundated areas. However, these platforms are reportedly monitoring the situation and hope for it become better, to resume their services.
Bengaluru received heavy rainfall for two days which resulted in floods in many areas. The official statistics show that 85 regions and 2,000 houses in Bengaluru have been inundated due to heavy rain.
