CARWORKZ, the
technology enabled workshop discovery platform, a part of the $17.8 billion
Mahindra Group, today formally announced the beginning of its operations in
Mumbai. An intrapreneurial venture of
the Mahindra Group, the Multi-brand car service aggregation platform will
empower car owners with the right information to choose the right servicing
option for their car at the best price.
During
the beta testing phase, CARWORKZ has already brought into its fold over 1000
workshops and 5000 registered users.
The startup aims at increasing its footprint to five cities in the calendar year,
building a user base of 1 lakh car owners and supporting over 4500 workshops.
CARWORKZ addresses
the challenges faced by today’s well informed, cost-conscious
car owners, and fills the void created by the lack of transparency regarding
service needs of a car, the servicing options available and pricing. This
platform will allow car owners of all brands, to not only find their nearest
workshop but also compare services offered by a workshop and the charges for
those all at the convenience of a few clicks on their smartphone. Customers can
also benefit from the ratings and reviews by fellow car owners, to make
well-informed car servicing decisions.

information on all kinds of workshops, from Authorized Service Centres (ASC),

is that the workshops that feature on the platform are listed after a profiling
exercise to authenticate their services and existence. The Ratings and Review
feature also provides users the benefit of learning from the experiences of other
car owners like themselves. We are also working towards a unique Carworkz Assurance program to ensure quality
standards for services booked through the platform. Additionally, in our bid to
work at both ends of the spectrum, we will also provide listed workshops with a
digital presence, and support them with their back-end operations.”

affordable IT solutions, and skill
development programs.
According
to industry estimates, the car after-sales
service market is pegged at INR. 30,000 crores and is expected to grow to
around INR. 40,000 crores by 2020.
