China leads the Hurun global rich list in 2023 followed by the USA. Between them, China and USA have 53 per cent of billionaires in the world. India is in the third spot with 187.

The healthcare sector minted the most number of Indian dollar billionaires, followed by consumer goods and chemicals on the other hand financial services, healthcare and the retail sector minted more global billionaires.

US billionaire Jeff Bezos lost most wealth in dollar terms over the last year, according to the 2023 M3M Hurun Global Rich List released on Wednesday. The founder of e-commerce marketplace Amazon lost $70 billion in personal wealth, which is greater than the combined loss suffered by Indian billionaires Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, according to the release.

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries (RIL) and Asia's richest man has become the only Indian to appear on the Hurun Global Rich List, which was published on Wednesday.

Despite a 20 per cent drop in wealth, the RIL CEO ranked ninth worldwide with a USD 82 billion net worth, according to the report titled 'The 2023 M3M Hurun Global Rich List' collected by research platform Hurun in collaboration with real-estate group M3M.

For the third year in a row, the billionaire has maintained the title of wealthiest Asian. The RIL CEO honoured 20 years at the helm of Reliance, during which time the conglomerate's revenues increased 17-fold and profit increased 20-fold.
