These 5 Millennial Run Startups Are Serving All Your Food, Fashion and Finance Needs

Falhari is a rapidly growing name in the corporate hubs of Gurgaon that fulfils all your cravings for fruits and desire to adopt a healthy lifestyle.

We have curated a list of 5 startups who are based out of Gurugram and offer unique solutions to meet the day-to-day needs. Also they grabbed attention of veteran investors, such as Google's Rajan Anandan, Goldman Sachs' Puneet Gupta, DBS's Vinay Gupta, among others.

While companies such as Flipkart, Paytm, Ola and Oyo solved larger problems, there are other issues that shape the way people live. So to build companies of the future, it becomes paramount to identify niches and build businesses around them.

These startups are changing the way millennials consume the internet -- be it for fashion, food or to help them keep track of their finances, too. They provide unique solutions through technology to serve their customers and are aimed at solving basic problems of what and how to wear, where and what to eat, and even manage finances better, which is one of the biggest pain-point for the upstart young generation.

Mypoolin (Application for social payments among friends)

Mypoolin is a social payments app that enables seamless payments collection, settlement and planning among a group of friends for daily use cases. Mypoolin raised its first round of funding from a group of 10 angel investors including the likes of Rajan Anandan (Google), Sharad Sharma (iSpirt), Amit Ranjan (ex-SlideShare), Sunil Kalra. They also were the Indian winners of QPrize 2015, and received $250,000 as a convertible round of funding from Accel Partners and Qualcomm Ventures in September 2015.

Founded by Rohit Taneja and Ankit Singh in January 2015, the concept is split into two parts, the first one being - 'Split & Settle' where it helps you in sending and receiving money instantly from any bank to any bank just by using a mobile number. And the second one being 'Plan & Pay' part where you can chat and pay together for daily use cases such as movies, events, dining, travel, gifting, deals and more. Covering the whole process from in-app recommendations to chatting to splitting and paying as a group to finally purchasing on the app, the product is one of its kind. The app interfaces and fetches information from all your existing favorite apps like BookMyShow, Amazon, and many more to make the flow infinitely cool and seamless.

In terms of growth, it is processing more than Rs. 1 Crore worth transaction volume this March 2017. Most of the P2P payments on their platform happen via the fast growing UPI infrastructure which enables seamless cross bank transfers across all major Indian banks. Besides, this is the only app in the country where you can also send money from any bank to any bank even if the recipient is not on UPI. This unique feature alone fetched Rs. 3.5 lac worth transaction volume in December, all organically.

Falhari (Application for subscription based fruit delivery service)

Falhari is a rapidly growing name in the corporate hubs of Gurgaon that fulfils all your cravings for fruits and desire to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Gulshan Sharma (26), an energetic entrepreneur conceptualized Falhari as a subscription service, after surveying hundreds of individuals who wanted to eat fruits on a regular basis but ended up consuming widely available junk food. The problem was manifold as a) lack of time and expertise in choosing best fruits b) peeling, packaging and carrying involved a lot of efforts and c) making it a routine was difficult due to lack of availability as opposed to junk which includes packaged juices with artificial sweetener and preservatives.

This led him to gather the expertise of nutritionists, engineers from IIT and physicians to serve his customers with a daily dose of 5 fruit energy box containing handpicked, freshly cut fruits - customized for each individual subscriber. Falhari has further innovated by collaborating with Ayurveda practitioners who read the three nadis and give personalized dietary and lifestyle recommendations.

In last 2 years, operations have been streamlined and Falhari today has its own delivery mechanism to ensure that a fruit box reaches the office desk within 45 minutes of preparation and temperature is maintained throughout its journey.

Starting at INR 449/week, the subscription is managed with an android application which allows the user to postpone a box to a later date.
