Licious Ropes In Former Myntra Executive As CPTO

Ajit Narayanan, a former MFine and Myntra executive, has been appointed as the company's Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO) of Homegrown meat brand Licious

Narayanan will be in charge of the company's efforts to transform the brand and category, as well as the consumer experience and supply chain management.

He has over two decades of experience in developing and scaling digital products and technology in a variety of domains such as e-commerce, healthcare, mobile, and artificial intelligence, and he is a co-inventor on numerous patents in these areas.

Narayanan was previously the CTPO and a founding member of the healthcare startup MFine. Some of his notable innovations include assistive AI technology for doctors and the industry's first mobile vital monitoring devices. He was also Myntra's chief technology officer and SAP's vice president of product and technology. He is an engineer with a degree in electronics and communication.

Licious, founded in 2015 by Abhay Hanjura and Vivek Gupta, claims to have grown 300% in the last six years. The company has 28 offices in cities such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi NCR, Chandigarh, Mumbai, and Pune.

Licious made its first strategic investment in fresh pet food startup Pawfectly Made in April, where the brand would function as a separate entity and production process.

In March, the company raised $150 million in an extended Series F funding round led by Singapore's Amansa Capital, and in October 2021, it raised $52 million from IIFL Asset Management Ltd's private equity fund at a billion-dollar valuation.
