Hoovu Fresh raises $790,000 in a pre-series A Funding round led by Sauce. VC. The round saw the participation from multiple angel investors such as Sangeet Agarwal (Founder of Mokobara), Akshay Dujodwala (CSO at Mangalam Organics), Nikhil Bhandarkar (Founder of Panthera Peak Capital), Mylktree Family Office, Cafe Coffee Day’s family office and others.

It was started by Yeshoda Karuturi and Rhea Karuturi in February 2019. Its objective is to make fresh flowers available every day at affordable prices. The startup delivers fresh flowers by shortening the supply chain and leveraging technology in packaging and innovation.

The company claims to reduce the turnaround time to 12-24 hours by enabling the extension of the flowers' shelf life by two to five minutes. It does this by partnering with local farms, packaging and multiple distribution channels.

Hoovu has operations in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Flowers can be ordered via Big Basket, Zepto, Milk Basket and other apps. It also offers agarbatti made out of recycled temple flowers and other Puja Samagri that can be purchased from its website.
