Started by an Economics Graduate from the Delhi University, Manuraj Singh Johar, who comes with over a decade of entrepreneurial experience in hospitality, Trip Tap Toe is an online travel platform founded in 2008.
The platform helps travellers search, discover and book worldwide hotels, flights and curated itineraries in India & abroad. It offers the most competitive prices not only for hotels but also for air tickets and personalised holiday packages across locations. The company caters to all kinds of travel and leisure requirements of individuals and corporates (corporate events, MICE Tourism, Destination Weddings, Travel Insurance and much more).
In 2014, the company raised its first private investment of $100,000 from an HNI which helped propel the company’s revenue to Rs. 5 Cr., more than double from the previous year (2013). Revenue of 13-14 was 1.23cr. Revenue of 14-15 was 5cr. The second funding followed in 2016 by Mr. R.S Sharma, Former Chairman & Managing Director, ONGC. The brand achieved its highest revenue ever i.e. 76% growth post being funded in October 2016. Trip Tap Toe has used its funding to deploy effective marketing strategies and upgradation of mobile & web platforms to make them even more robust and intuitive.
The brand has not just proved itself for quick, commercially viable and quality travel services but also created a niche for itself among today’s travellers who are constantly pressed for time and looking for instant solutions/assistance. In keeping with the hectic schedules and busy lifestyles of urban users, Trip Tap Toe recently launched its unique “Concierge App” (available in both- Android and iOS) which offers real time assistance like ‘On the Go’ hotel bookings, Web check-in on behalf of users etc—over a chat. The idea behind introducing this unique feature was to relieve users from hassles of calls, back & forth emails etc. while traveling. Another unique feature of the App is the option to negotiate prices live which enables users to compare prices of hotels & flights in real time before booking. The app has a simple, user-friendly interface and can be used for booking hotels, flights and expeditions in India and overseas.
The brand is now concentrating on further scaling the business and expanding its network of corporate and leisure clients. It plans to ramp up its sales team, roll out strategic consumer led marketing campaigns and invest in technology upgradation. Trip Tap Toe also plans to launch operations in Dubai and Hong kong by end of this year.
