TeamIndus Foundation, the CSR arm of TeamIndus is launching a Campus Ambassadors program to reach out to college students.
Madhumita Bhattacharya, programme lead, TeamIndus Foundation, in a statment said, “The idea is to create excitement about space and engineering. We want students to be aware of the work happening here and the opportunities present in this nascent industry.“
The company has already signed on 50 college students and will look at adding more over the next few months. The mission is to be formally launched in August and one part of this initiative would be involving students interacting online with TeamIndus engineers and scientists to learn more about engineering and designing a moon mission. The second part will be connecting with other students on the campuses by setting up space clubs or talks to familiarize themselves with the industry.
Some of them would have an opportunity to intern with TeamIndus in the future. The TeamIndus Foundation was set up to create academic awareness around the moon mission and leverage the educational opportunities it provides. Apart from this, students will have the enough time to learn some skills and join them later.
In 2016, Team Indus ran a Lab2moon contest which saw participation from engineering colleges around the world. Currently, Moonshot Wheels, a bus facility is traveling across India to create awareness on science and technology education.
