Swiggy has partnered with World On A Plate for the 6th edition of the gourmet food festival which is going digital this year to support the cause of hunger by bringing food on the plate of those hit by the ongoing pandemic.

World On A Plate Season 6 will showcase over 27 celebrity chef masterclasses and signature dishes by 35 exceptional restaurants that will be available on Swiggy as a part of a curated collection.

As part of the 5-day campaign, WOAP has on boarded renowned chefs like Ranveer Brar, Saransh Goila (Goila Butter chicken), Vicky Ratnani (Culinary Director of Everstone Capital), Ajay Chopra (Masterchef India), popular Mexican chef Colibrí Jiménez and Simon Toohey from Masterchef Australia to prepare DIY food kits which will be delivered through Swiggy Genie in Bangalore (Bengaluru Oota Company), Delhi (Demiurgic Hospitality) and Mumbai (Gourmet Dabbawala). Consumers can order these DIY kits on the WOAP website and then use Swiggy Genie for pick up and delivery on the day of their session.

Swiggy Genie, a hyperlocal delivery offering by Swiggy was launched to address consumer pain points and offer added convenience and safety during these challenging times. In recent months, consumers have used the Genie services to pick up and drop off everyday essentials, schoolbooks, send food to family members or even deliver documents or parcels to clients. Swiggy has tied-up with leading brands to bring essentials and non-essential products to the consumers’ doorstep, ensuring they deliver convenience without users stepping out of their homes.

Commenting on the initiative, celebrity chef Ranveer Brar said, “My association with WOAP goes beyond the Master classes. The segment I really look forward to is cooking for special children during the event. This year, though the event is going virtual, the sharing aspect is still intact. We are supporting the World Hunger Warriors who have served over half a million people in the last 100 days of Covid-19."
