SuperScholar, an edtech startup, the go-to place for Gen-Z students for EdTech scholarships raised  $400k from JITO Angel Network. SuperScholar has over 16,000 users on its platform and will hit the 1 million user milestone by the end of 2022. The startup is awarded close to Rs. 20 lakhs in scholarships to students.

Super Scholar was founded by Rohan Lodha and Priyes Bamne with a mission to make online courses affordable to every Indian student. The founding team comes from an EdTech background and they noticed that students often wanted to take online courses but struggled to afford these courses. The only solution to this problem in India is via loans and that puts an unnecessary financial burden on the students and their families. They devised a unique way to offer scholarships for online courses.

“We are delighted to close a $400k funding round with the help from investors JITO Angel Network, MAGIC Fund, 2AM VC, Astir VC and more. We started Super Scholar with a massive vision to make online courses accessible to every student in India and across the world and it's time to execute now.” Rohan Lodha, co-founder of SuperScholar.

“At 100X, we are delighted to be the first institutional investor in Super Scholar, which has pioneered the concept of ETech scholarships for GenZ students. It is truly a “blue ocean” and a much needed gap which is being fulfilled. We strongly believe that Super Scholar has the ability to grow rapidly and become a leader in this space”, Ninad Karpe, Partner,
