Startup BoardMeet 2017 brings lawyers, founders and investors all under one roof, who will be engaging in discussions that will help startups understand the way forward for the Indian startup ecosystem.

Even though the amount of funding that Indian startups received in 2016 reduced by almost 50% when compared to the previous year, it is quite evident that with each passing year, the Indian startup ecosystem becomes more mature. 2017 is already deemed to be a milestone in the ecosystem which we see some market leaders emerge and some new sectors being opened. 

Startup BoardMeet 2017 is an event for startups to learn how to “Build Businesses for a Billion People”.

The event, organized by Lawyered.in, will take place on the 21st of January, 2017 in Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

The Legal panel will see the best of the legal world discuss how startups can leverage intellectual property to build a better valuation, protecting their brand in this competitive era and building a business that sells. The panel includes the General Counsel from Snapdeal, Ashish Chandra; a registered patent attorney, Richa Pandey; Anil Advani, a reputed silicon valley lawyer who has been associated with more than 2000 lawyers and Shashank Tiwari, CEO, Lawyered.in representing the startups and talking about the common legal problems faced with early-stage startups.

The Founder panel brings together the masterminds who took their startups from zero to hero. Abhiraj Bhal, CEO, UrbanClap; Ankur Warikoo, CEO, Nearbuy; Sairee Chahal, CEO, Sheroes and Ritesh Malik, Founder, Innov8 will share their thoughts on focus points for early-stage startups, the difference between building a brand vs. building a business and how to stand out from the competition.

The Investor panel will see a few of India’s known investors talk about what they want the new-age of companies to be like. They will also discuss possible sectors that will see a lot of growth in the year 2017 and how can bootstrapped startups can catch investors early-on. The panel includes Arpit Agarwal, Blume Ventures; Shuvi Shrivastav, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Abhishek Agarwal, from Operator.VC.

The concluding Keynote panel will have Neeraj Dubey, Head-Corporate of L&S Attorneys; Rahul Narvekar, CEO, The Indian Network and Scale Ventures Funds; Swati Bhargava, Co-Founder CashKaro and Ritesh Malik, Founder, Innov8. The panel will discuss how companies can scale from local to international markets, how companies can start building valuation even at an early-stage and the role of IP in India’s future.
