Top 10 Franchisors of India

The best 100 franchises and business opportunities currently on offer in India, covering companies of all size, price and industry has been compiled by Franchise Asia.

Result of the Top 100 Franchises

Of the top 100, we have listed here the top 10.

The most striking aspect of the results was just how young these systems are. The majority of the companies have only been franchising in India in this century, yet they have managed to open tens and often hundreds of units in that time. This supports the general consensus that the Indian franchise industry has been growing at a tremendous rate in the last two decades, quadrupling since 2012.

With 32 out of the 100 franchises, food and beverage was the most common industry, as is the case around the globe. Education and training came next with 18, with retail gathering 14. The preschool Kidzee had the most franchise units – a whopping 1,600 – greatly outnumbering even Subway (600) and Domino's Pizza (1,085).

Based on months of research, the list was calculated using information gathered only from reliable resources including the Franchising Association of India, data submitted by companies, franchise disclosure documents, and published industry sources. The information used for the ranking includes:

- How many franchise units the company has in India and abroad
- Whether the company was founded in India, elsewhere in Asia or further afield
- How long the franchise system has been operating in India
- Stability and growth
- The cost of a franchise package
- The franchisee's annual revenue
- Whether or not the franchisee is offered financial aid to start up.
- Franchisee training
