Having created a robust niche in the market with a unique product, Ridlr, India’s first local transit ticketing and information app, has now tied up with Amazon Pay to enable users to purchase tickets or recharge passes for different modes of public transport in Mumbai seamlessly and securely. With Ridlr being the foremost local transport app in India and Amazon Pay being globally renowned for its superlative standards of payment service, the move marks a coming together of two category leaders to assure a world-class experience to customers.
Ridlr users can conduct digital transactions using Amazon Pay to pay for tickets and passes of Reliance Mumbai Metro. Further adding to their delight, users will also have a chance to avail cashback on Amazon Pay through offers available at the time of purchase which can later be used on the Amazon.in & other Amazon Pay partner sites as well.
Brijraj Vaghani, Founder & CEO, Ridlr, commented, “The aim of this association with a global leader such as Amazon Pay is to deliver the most convenient and secure digital payment option and an additional value proposition to all existing as well as potential users of Ridlr. Commuters in Mumbai no longer need to worry about cash or loose change when purchasing tickets. All they need to do is log into the app, choose their transport option and make the payment in just a few seconds using Amazon Pay. Moreover, since a majority of commuters on the Mumbai Metro are tech-savvy and frequent online shoppers, they will appreciate the chance to earn cashbacks which they can use towards transactions on Amazon.in & other Amazon Pay partner sites.”
Commenting on the partnership, Manesh Mahatme, Director Payments, Amazon said: “Amazon has built a superior payments experience for millions of Indian customers and we are constantly looking at enhancing this experience to encompass other payment needs as well. We are happy to partner with Ridlr to extend the trusted and convenient Amazon Pay experience for customers on their preferred local transit ticketing and information app.”
In addition to offering mobile app-based ticketing services, Ridlr is the first company in the country to provide real-time traffic information for Indian cities using homegrown technology. By informing commuters exactly when the next bus, train, or metro will arrive, Ridlr helps them plan their journey with ease, even providing accurate information on multiple modes of transport for a single trip. Users can look up real-time traffic conditions, receive updates on possible factors likely to affect their commute, search for schedules of all public transportation in the city, and plan their trip based on the distance, travel time, and modes – all in a single search.
Online ticketing services on Ridlr are currently live in Mumbai, while other services such as schedules of local public transport and live traffic updates are available for 19 cities including Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, and Indore. It plans to expand its ticketing services to other key metro cities like Delhi and Bangalore in the near future, and subsequently to other tier-2 and tier-3 locations across the country as well.
