Mihup Partners With Harman For Voice Feature In Tata Motors

The collaboration focuses on bringing in Indian regional language and dialect support, which was missing in the earlier in-vehicle voice assistant.

Automated virtual agent, Mihup Communications Pvt. Ltd. has partnered with Harman International, an audio electronics company for voice assistants in Tata Motors. The collaboration focuses on bringing in Indian regional language and dialect support, which was missing in the earlier in-vehicle voice assistant. Mihup supports ‘Hinglish’ (a combination of Hindi and English) at present and is looking to cover Bengali-English and Tamil-English soon. Its aim is to cover all major Indian languages by 2022.

The voice solution is presently available on variants of Tata Nexon and Tata Altroz cars and is also an offline feature now. It allows the driver to experience hands-free and voice-based control for every significant car function like operating the music system, the air conditioner, and radio, to name a few. It also provides ‘natural language’ support for supporting navigation commands, making phone calls, vehicle information, and playing music from the USB.
