Raghuram; and the global Vice President of Xiaomi and Managing Director of Xiaomi India, Manu Jain. The desire to give back to the society, contribute towards building the careers of the youth, and work with bright minds are just a few of the many reasons why these icons are excited to be a part of IwI 3.0. The online event began on April 24 and will today, 30 April, is the final day of the program.
Intern with Icon was launched in 2016 with the objective to provide students with a once in a lifetime opportunity to work and learn from their role models. The previous two editions saw students applying to internship opportunities with Nandita Das, Rahul Ram, Bhaichung Bhutia, Shaheen Mistri, Amitabh Kant, and Gul Panag.
Students are actively looking for opportunities in unconventional profiles these days and with an aim to provide internships in diverse profiles, Intern with Icon 3.0 would offer internships in fields ranging from video editing, research, graphic design to social media marketing and management. This initiative will help the youth acquire job-specific skills from the experts while they learn essential life lessons. It is one thing to listen to the songs of Sona Mohapatra and Kailash Kher or read about the news coverage on Abhinav Bhindra but working with these icons will be a unique experience altogether. Working with the likes of Rahul Bose, Jayant Sinha, Manu Jain would be a great learning experience for those who aim to be a leader or an influencer down the road.
On the launch of Intern with Icon 3.0, Sarvesh Agrawal, the founder and CEO of Internshala, said, "Since 2010, Internshala is on a mission to build a culture of meaningful internships and Intern with Icon is a step towards that. We have been steadfast in creating unique opportunities which would add immense value to the lives of the youth. Through this initiative, we hope to encourage the youth to follow their passion and help them learn directly from their role models. There is no dearth of talent in India, and we realised that if students can get mentorship from these icons, it would equip them with industry knowledge and soft skills”.
Internshala started as a blog in 2010 and over the years, it has turned into world's largest internship platform (at least by Alexa rankings, claims the company). Internshala's mission is to equip each of the 30 million college students in India with practical knowledge and skills so that they can build their dream careers.
On Internshala, a student can search and apply for an internship of her choice as well as receive training on skills needed to get an internship. Over 2.5 million students and 80,000 organisations are registered on Internshala and both can use the platform for free for internships.
