KleverMind is an online platform that simplifies the nursery admissions for both struggling parents and overworked school staff. Through the KleverMind website and app, parents need to fill only one master form, through which they can apply to multiple schools in the comfort of their homes. Schools, on the other hand, benefit by receiving pre verified, valid and qualified forms with the help of an innovation and technology driven admission process.

Brief us about your business model like how did the idea came to start and how does it work?
As working parents struggling with the school admission process during my daughter’s nursery school admission, we applied to 28 schools, which took us 20 working days. Not only did we have to take time off from work, visiting different schools to fetch and submit forms, understanding each school’s different requirements and procedures is what made us tired, angry and in desperate need for a solution like KleverMind. Since nothing like this already existed, we decided to take matters in our own hands to help struggling parents like ourselves. Last year during the nursery admissions in Delhi, we did a survey of around 450+ parents and found that every parent wants a platform like KleverMind where they can apply to multiple schools in a single go in the comfort of their homes.
Right from its inception, KleverMind has found a niche for itself. We have been accepted in 170+ schools across Delhi/NCR and have 5000+ registered parents on our platform.
Parents need to signup on our website and then fill the master form. Then they can find out nearby schools through our mobile app or website through our unique geotagging feature and then apply to those schools by doing the online payment. They can apply to multiple schools in a single go. Schools on the other hand, need to get registered and then they can login to see their dashboard for payment and other related details.
How are you different from the existing competitors?
We are different from our competitors in the sense that we only list those schools on our platform which have tied up with us. Parents can apply to multiple schools by filling a single form through website or mobile app. Schools benefit by receiving pre verified, valid and qualified forms with the help of an innovation and technology driven admission process.
What is the funding status and monetization model?
We received funding from Ashish Gupta, Founder and Trustee of Ashoka University, Founder of Ashoka and the Former COO and Global Head of Evalueserve in the month of August. Our monetization model is we charge a nominal amount from both the schools and parents for using our services. We also do digital marketing for few schools and charge them for that which is a monthly recurring model.
What challenges are you facing in running your business?
Our initial challenge was getting schools and that too branded schools on our platform. Now that many branded schools have accepted KleverMind and discovered its benefits. Our focus is on our second challenge – parents, who are a bit skeptical about nursery admissions through a new platform like KleverMind. Very quickly, however, we have seen tremendous growth in our parent base as using the platform has shown them that KleverMind is solving their pain point and making their life easy.
How has been the people responses so far?
In our current education system, the beginning of each academic session is marked by a lot of stress and frenzy over the entire admission procedure. The rush to apply to the maximum number of schools in the shortest span of time makes it a gruelling, long and tiring experience. To top this, the point system prevalent in schools, based on neighbourhoods, siblings, alumna, government servant or girl child makes it tough for any parent to tick all the boxes and reach the minimal cut off set by the individual schools. Also, with both parents working nowadays, the ordeal usually entails pleading at work for leaves, long hectic travels, energy, time and money expenditure and incredible amount of stress, worries and tension.
So we have got a very good response from the parents as it is making their life easy and they can now apply to multiple schools in comfort of their home.
We currently have 170+ schools tied up with us and 5000+ registered parents.
We will take this forward to other Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities from January onward.
We are exclusively partnering with schools so that they promote us. Also we are reaching out to our audiences through Digital Marketing.
What has been the biggest learnings so far?
Our biggest learning is that we should make understand our product to target audience in their language i.e., showing them the benefits of using it. Our Value Proposition should be in their favour. Then only they buy your product.
Next is credibility. to beat this we should have an Adviser who is well connected in the field you are working.
