Startup incubator Prototyze, that launched a health and fitness centered mobile app MobieFit Technologies Pvt Ltd. in 2015, plans to roll out more apps in the coming season.
Actor-activist and entrepreneur Gul Panag has been a fitness icon for more than a decade. A serial half-marathon runner, for her “Fitness is about strength, flexibility and endurance.” The partnership with startup incubator Prototyze, that launched a health and fitness centred mobile app MobieFit Technologies Pvt Ltd. in 2015, where Panag is the co-founder and chief fitness officer, plans to roll out more apps in the coming quarter.
“We are working on a range of fitness apps, and are also planning to launch these for different purposes like an app for kids, an app for flexibility and body, and many more. The idea is to make an app to fulfil the requirements for a healthy body and help one follow a fitness routine,” said Panag.
MobieFit Technologies deals in mobile fitness apps powered by celebrity trainers like Gul Panag, Milind Soman, Bani J. “We focus on voice coach and motivate users to achieve their goals mainly through audio. Some features of the app are based on Josh Clark’s open source ‘Couch to 5K’ running plan. It lists a number of features including walking plus running programme, voice-guided running, GPS integration to track running distance in real time and a personal workout diary with stats and graphs to track the running progress. The app also has long-distance running programmes, options to map runs and an integrated music player,” she added.
Talking about the technological advancements in the startup ecosystem, Panag feels, “We are living in an eco-system which has introduced incredible technological innovations like health and fitness apps. These apps help us easily achieve fitness goals at our own time and convenience and also help users in making healthier choices,” she feels.
MobieFit has been bootstrapped and seed-funded by Prototyze and is incubated by cofounder Gourav Jaswal. Prototyze is an incubator of mobile internet products across sectors such as financial services, health and fitness and training and learning.
