Founding Years Learning Solutions, the parent company of KLAY Schools and The Little Company, has acquired Bangalore-based WeCare Schools in an acquisition with a sales consideration.
KLAY and WeCare, both operating on the non-franchise model, are two of the largest chains in Bangalore with the same learning methodology of Multiple Intelligence. The acquisition helps KLAY consolidate its position as the leader in the early childcare and education segment across the country as it boosts its portfolio with the operational excellence of a 9 year old brand.
Through this acquisition, Founding Years, KLAY's parent entity, now has an expanded footprint of over 75 centers pan-India, further strengthening its position as the largest non-franchise chain of early childcare centers in the country.
WeCare Schools was founded in 2008, with 12 daycare centers in Bangalore and one in Hyderabad, WeCare was awarded the "Best Daycare cum Preschool in India" in 2017 by Katalyst Research and has also been ranked among Bengaluru's Top Preschools for seven consecutive years, from 2010 to 2016, by the Education World magazine.
Speaking on the acquisition, Priya Krishnan, Founder & CEO, Founding Years Learning Solutions said, “With the acquisition of what was a much-respected competitor such as WeCare, we gain a significant presence throughout all micro markets in and around Bangalore with over 30 centers in the city now. We have had great respect for the work they have done for the past nineyears and the goodwill they have created over this period.”
She added, “The acquisition should help us not just from a scale perspective, but also in terms of the knowledge and operational excellence that their team brings to the table.”
