The New Delhi Chapter of Entrepreneurs' Organization, a global network of entrepreneurs, hosted an event recently, to encourage women power, themed around “Women power against all the odds”. The EO members congregated to meet Arunima Sinha, First Indian Amputee & First female to climb Mount Everest and Raha Moharrak, First Saudi Arabian woman who eliminated all social barriers to scale Mount Everest. Both the Mountaineers got candid with the members during the event and shared their life experiences.
28-year-old Arunima Sinha, shared her life’s hardships and how she dealt with it positively. In her book "Born again on the mountain" (launched in 2014) she mentions that after losing everything how she found it back. She was awarded Padma Shri (in 2015) and Tenzing Norgay Highest Mountaineering Award in India, the same as Arjuna Award. Being a National-level volleyball player, her resilience and optimistic approach helped her fulfill her aim to climb the continents' highest peaks.
The first Saudi woman to conquer Mount Everest, Raha Moharrak, also shared her journey on becoming the youngest Arab to climb the mountain. She shared her views on Women’s Leadership and her personal experience on the importance of being courageous to achieve the aim. She also mentioned that convincing her family was as great a challenge she faced, like the mountain itself.
During the open interaction, various topics were discussed, which included the dealing with inner-strength, trust (on your passion), dream (to make it happen), belief (that one could achieve the impossible) etc. They emphasized the importance of self-courage, will power, determination towards the goal and the importance of training as it can act as the cornerstone for more emerging talents.

It was our great pleasure to host these inspirational ladies who shared their reflective insights of life. It was great to see how despite so many adversities they turned around their lives towards success. EO members globally are a highly motivated group of entrepreneurs and such engagement helps inspire them further."
The event was aimed to spread the message that no physical and social barriers can let down a person. A strong will power and determination is all that one needs. The event was organized in joint association with EO Gurgaon and was a part of the series that EO organizes for its members to get a platform to meet top business leaders and other personalities from various spheres of lives.
