CBA Leads the Pre-Series A Round of Funding for Shirsa Labs
New funds will be used to bolster their presence in India and scale up the business further

The edtech startup Shirsa Labs recently raised half a million dollars in the pre-series A round. The Mumbai based startup has raised the amount from multiple existing investors. The recent round of funding was led by Cross Border Angels (CBA), some of the angel investors who participated in the current round include ah! Ventures, Dewang Neralla, Mahesh Kothurdkar, Purple Patch Ventures & family offices from Dubai and Goa , Atul Agarwal (Founder of Mercator Lines, a listed company), and multiple investment bankers from India and US. The fresh funds will be used by the company to bolster its marketing in India and scale-up their business and presence in the industry and amongst the subscribers.
Shirsa Labs’ online engagement platform ‘Planet of Gui’ is the country’s first social platform that engages kids with multiple features and educating content. The online engagement platform for the kids between the ages of 6 years to 14 years has over 750,000 register users and witnesses more than two million visitors every month. Shirsa Labs is one of the very few edtech start-ups which competes at the global scale with the likes of Poptropica Islands (US & Canada), ABCmouse.com (US & Canada), POPJAM (UK), Epic (USA) and has ability to expand its presence globally along with India.
Speaking on the recent round of funding Mr. Mandar Desai, Co-Founder & CFO, Shirsa Labs said, “The capital is like a fuel to the startup.
