Boby Chemmanur International group will be investing Rs 250 crore to launch the helicopter taxi service in Kerala while the operations of the service will be handled by Enhance Aviation Services. The heli-taxi services will be inaugurated by Kerala tourism minister Kadakampalli Surendran on Tuesday.
“Services will be launched from Kochi to Munnar and Thekkady. The group will acquire ten helicopters on wet lease in phases to ferry people to tourist destinations," said Jisso Baby, director Boby Chemmanur International group.
“The helicopter can accommodate five adults and the charges will be based on the distance. The group is considering starting the service to Wayanad and Bakel with the second helicopter. "We will employ more helicopters as per the demand. We are thinking of starting service for people in Infopark in Kochi to Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram,” said John Thomas, manager of Enhance Aviation Services.
“Boby Heli Taxi will be extended soon to 26 Boby oxygen resorts spread over the country. The service will also be launched in other states in the coming years,” he added.
