Blume Onboards IBM Veteran to Seed the Next Wave of Enterprise Innovation

Radhesh earlier ran the Startup initiative of IBM India, called the Global Entrepreneur Program (GEP). He was instrumental in steering the GEP from scratch to one of the initiatives to be reckoned by India’s startup ecosystem, which resulted in strong revenues for IBM India’s Cloud business.

Blume, one of India’s leading and most active early stage VCs, is deepening its engagement in the space of B2B Startups with the appointment of Radhesh Kanumury as Venture Advisor to catalyze its Enterprise Innovation efforts.  This would include Tech Startups in Industry verticals including BFSI, Healthcare, Education, Agriculture, Clean tech, Retail, and would leverage platforms such as Big Data, AI, VR, IoT, Blockchain, Robotics and more.

Karthik Reddy, Managing Partner, Blume Ventures said, “We’ve always been a believer in backing B2B startups, which comprise a significant percentage of our porftolio.  This new initiative advances our entry ‘check-in’ point. Radhesh will focus on investments and mentoring of startups at the seed/angel stage that have at least an MVP in place.”

Some of Blume’s notable B2B investments include Grey Orange Robotics, Exotel, Belong, Mettl, Greytip, Locus, Tricog, Zenatix, Dataweave, Idfy, Squad and Minjar, amongst many others.  B2B will remain a key focus area as Blume plans to launch its third fund in 2018.

He also conceptualized and executed BM India`s Biggest B2B Startup challenge, IBM India Smartcamp. Many finalists and winners secured funding either for the first time or for their subsequent rounds. Radhesh has assisted many Startups in their journey by mentoring and helping them in their Go to Market strategies.  Prior to this, he worked as a Software Architect designing complex solutions for Clients and ISVs and led sales for IBM Software through his solutions contributing significant revenues for IBM Software.
