Amazon Acquires E-Commerce Platform Perpule At $14.5 Million

The deal was closed at INR 107.6 Crore or about $14.5 Mn. The overall deal value is pegged at INR 150 Crore/ $20 Million

BENGALURU based retail tech start-up Perpule has been acquired by American retailer Amazon in a bid to expand its Indian footprint in the home delivery of groceries. 

The deal was closed at INR 107.6 Crore or about $14.5 Mn. The overall deal value is pegged at INR 150 Crore/ $20 Million because Amazon has to pay remuneration to Perpule’s employees in addition to the deal.

Founded in 2016, by Saketh BSV, Abhinav Pathak, and Yogesh Ghaturle, Perpule is an e-commerce platform that allows retailers to step into and build a business in the digital space. Perpule has a network of 10,000 stores and retail partners to better understand the customer demographic. The company has expanded across India, South-east Asia as well as the UAE, with 60% of the customers based internationally.
