In this entrepreneurial ecosystem execution is the foremost substance which can equate to the measure of efforts. Ideas don't matter and things on paper often fall victim of getting started by a bigger shark in this industry.

However, what really happens when a product which is existent in the market and striking revenues is duplicated from start to end and branded by a separate entity as their own? Sheer disappointment to hard work and discouragement of innovating further occurs.

This is a story of a young entrepreneur who started of a venture named - Tabverts back in September 2016 and the product went live in the market by mid-November 2016 being stolen entirely as the founder was thrown a bait of a false promise to make investments and leading that conversation on just to dig out information on the product and technology.

Sahil Arora founder of Vuzelaa Group who started his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 16 and is known in this industry for starting up early and getting innovative products out in the market, inspiring the youth and getting backed by legendary cricketer Yuvraj Singh. It was in early September that Sahil started off with an idea that he had which could open up a huge digital market by utilising the booming cab aggregator industry which was of TABVERTS.

Tabverts was devised as an in-cab entertainment and ad-tech platform which focused on the core technology of uploading advertisements from their website and these advertisements coming to the remotely moving tablets online in realtime which was created by him and his team of developers in a span of three months. The platform also streamed content through its online channel and sent packets of data to the tablets via its backend database which was setup in FIREBASE through internet connectivity. For a brand it was as simple as visiting www.tabverts.in, selecting a price package, uploading advertisement and paying for it online and within 30-60 minutes after moderation from Tabverts Content team the advertisement came live on the tablets which were installed in cabs. The advertiser also was given access to an analytics dashboard wherein they can track the impression and control their campaign filters from that dashboard.

It was the time of mid-October when Sahil got in touch with the founder of Swipe Technologies, Mr. Shripal Gandhi. The founder of Tabverts got connected over LinkedIn to Mr. Gandhi to seek an investment for his venture from him and later on Mr. Gandhi shared his contact details with Sahil and the conversation shifted to WhatsApp.

Shripal & Sahil went on to have a frequent conversation over WhatsApp where Mr. Shripal asked Sahil to share his deck over email and later on asked about the future plans and features that Sahil wanted to add in Tabverts. Sahil also had a detailed phone call with Mr. Shripal a couple of times wherein Shripal understood the core technology of advertisement streaming and storing on the device from Sahil and a brief was given to him by Sahil, explaining the flow of the technology.

Sahil kept sharing all information with Shripal as there was a high interest from him to partner/invest in Tabverts and work together on it however these conversations dropped by the end of November and there was no response from Shripal after that.

In one of the mail Sahil wrote to Shripal, "The Tablets will allow passenger to make purchases, bill payments, book tickets, look for pubs and a lot more instead of just showing ads. Also, enabling card payments as the nation is going towards cashless economy by integrating Ezetap devices with every tablet." (A picture of this is available at the top of the story).

On 3rd January 2017, Shripal registered a company named CabbyTabby Technologies Private Limited whose core business was to provide in-cab entertainment and make users upload advertisements and get them broadcasted on the tablets remotely - the exact same working as of Tabverts Private Limited. CabbyTabby started installing its products in cabs with effect from 2nd of May 2017 and was spotted by Sahil on the 24th of May 2017 during his ride in a cab and after researching on CabbyTabby, it all led to Mr. Shripal Gandhi.

Furthermore, Shripal had also accessed the backend of Tabverts on the 14th of October 2016. (screenshot attached).

This is what the industry has come to wherein every startup founder is taught to be a risk taker and investors in the name of support give us hope and then go on to steal concepts and well executed products.
