  3. Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is ramping up its offline presence in India, will be opening at least five new experience stores this year, located in metro cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai.

  4. Xiaomi has launched its first lending product in India on the lines of the microlending product Mi Credit that it offers in China. The new credit product, launched in partnership with lending platform KrazyBee, has already gone live and will be officially announced in a few weeks.

  5. Uber plans to launch its first taxi-hailing pilot service in Japan (where the U.S. firm has been blocked from setting up its own fleet of drivers) that will connect passengers to other taxi providers.

  11. Bike taxi startup Rapido has acquired Hyderabad rival Getbike to enter the business-to-business segment, reported VCCircle. 

  12. DheeYantra Research Labs, the creator of vernacular chatbot platform, has raised seed funding from Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), the incubator-cum-investment arm of Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad.

  13. Influencer marketing firm Chtrbox has raised Rs 1 crore (around $147,000) in angel funding television personalities Roshan Abbas and Gaurav Kapur, reported VCCircle.

  14. School supplies startup, Edyoo has raised $1 million (Rs 6.8 crore) in pre-Series A funding from RS Shanbag, chairman and managing director of the diversified Valuepoint Group.
