In a first-of-its-kind event in India for mobility, Move - the Global Mobility Summit was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today. The summit welcomed several global industry leaders, representatives from the government, research organizations, think tanks and a variety of companies across the mobility ecosystem.
Addressing the audience, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the potential of mobility to create good quality jobs, improve quality of life and build an infrastructure that has inclusive multi-modal mobility at its core.
As one of the youngest CEOs at the event, Bhavish Aggarwal, Co-Founder & CEO of Ola, shared his vision for mobility in India and its ability to reformat the ecosystem. Congratulating Prime Minister Modi and his government’s efforts to transform the segment, he reiterated Ola’s belief that mobility has the power to transform India’s economy and provided a brief snapshot of Ola’s vision to offer innovative solution to address the challenges and changing needs.
Speaking at the event, Bhavish said, “The future of mobility, globally and in India, cannot be a mere extension of the way we do things currently. Using technology to our advantage is our chance to leapfrog in mobility and open up more economic opportunity.” Talking about how mobility can reform the segment he further added, “The future of employment is micro-entrepreneurship and we can create crores of direct and indirect livelihoods to deliver mobility to our citizens. Ola is catalyzing the entire ecosystem to enable a faster transition to electric mobility and solve our pollution challenges.”
Keeping technology at the core of all its efforts, Ola will continue to innovate and drive transformation within the mobility segment.
